CES 2018 will open its doors this week but the new Swift 7 from Acer is already causing a stir in Las Vegas.
This all-new laptop has just been unveiled ahead of this week’s major technology show and it claims to be the world’s thinnest portable PC.
The Windows 10 powered machine measures in at just 8.98mm thick – to compare, the Apple Macbook Air is 17mm thick.
“We’re extremely proud to make the world’s thinnest laptop even thinner with the new Swift 7,” said Jerry Kao, President of IT Products Business of Acer Inc.
“Building on the engineering break- throughs from the previous generation, the new Swift 7 steps up the game with an even slimmer chassis, powerful performance and always-on 4G LTE connectivity for professionals on the go.”
256 GB of onboard storage and 8 GB of RAM also adds to the impressive spec sheet.
Acer also says there’s up to 10 hours of battery life and it features in-built XMM 4G LTE connectivity which means this laptop is always online.
The Swift 7 even ships with a Transatel profile provisioned with up to 1 GB of free data valid for one month in 48 countries to help users get started immediately, while additional data plans can be easily purchased as needed through the Mobile Plans application while travelling around the world.
Other nice features include a 14-inch Full HD display, fingerprint scanner for added security and a backlit keyboard.
The Acer Swift 7 will be available in the UK from April with prices starting at £1599.
“The next PC anyone buys should be a great PC – powerful to feed the newest, richest experi- ences all day long,” said Chris Walker, Vice President of Intel Corp.
“Acer’s Swift 7 delivers on the performance expectation then ups the ante with built-in 4G LTE in an ultra-thin, stunning design. It’s the perfect PC for those who have things to do and create anywhere, at any time.”
